Here are my 99 words 🙂

The town’s social activist Annabelle Grace had been murdered in a gruesome fashion. She had been struck repeatedly on the head with the brass bell that had hung over the porch.

The police had found her seven year old daughter Isadora in a state of trauma. It was uncertain whether she would recover enough to speak about the murder.

To Isadora, it was all very simple. She loved candy but Mother scolded her everyday and kept the candy away.

The solution?

Silence Mother.

A smile crept into Isadora’s angelic features. Now she could have all the candy she wanted.

Hi! I'm Sam, an 18 year old certified mad chick who likes to imagine that she can write. I live in India, a colourful, diverse country which is sadly getting polluted everyday by more and more violence....something no citizen can be proud of. I enjoy reading-basically horror, watching romcoms and horror flicks(yes, again horror, my favourite being Sinister- its psychotic just like me), eating( food, oh yes, I love foooooood), attending college, and most of all(oh, do stay and listen a while longer) I love animals. I have periodic urges to own and look random "pets". Currently I wish to own a baby elephant, which I will name Thama. I write to express what I feel, to keep that small creative bone alive in my body, and to make readers happy. I hope you like what I write!

  1. Dear Sam,

Have you ever heard of a movie called “The Bad Seed”? It was made in 1956 and is about a pretty little girl who is a murderer. There’s nothing redeeming about this child. I think you may have written a story about a relative of hers. I find the creepiest stories are those about children murdering their parents. Good one.

    • Ohmygod! No I didn’t know about this movie, but I’m inclined to hunt it out on the internet and watch it, because I enjoy dark stuff like that. I read a few articles on child murderers once, and I was horrified and repulsed to think that such innocent faces can harbour such evil minds. Thank you for stopping by!

  2. I love this story, a dark tale told well.

  3. Behind a sweet smile often lingers a dark mind… very very eerie… I like it, though my skin itches from its creepiness.

  4. Ew . . . what a very naughty little girl.

  5. I wish no one had ever been killed for such a trivial reason, but unfortunately, that’s not true.

  6. Talk about a sweet tooth! Great story and writing! Thanks. Nan

  7. nothing more frightening than a child murderer. great dark tale! i’ll stock up on candy in case Isadora decided to go trick or treating…

  8. Good story but very sad. Unfortunately such things do happen. Your story was well done.

I still remember “The Bad Seed.” It was a very disturbing movie about a child with a total lack of conscience. The young girl playing the part was an excellent child actress. The scariest part was that she got away with it because she was a child and no one could believe she was guilty. The viewer knew she was guilty and that made it even more disturbing. It was a famous movie at the time. I seem to remember it was remade, but nothing matched the original made in 1956.

  9. Wow-what a dark and terrifying story-evil lurking behind innocent faces!Darn that sweet tooth, lol!Loved this tinkerbelle:-)

  10. Nice, dark and chilling. Just the way I like my stories 🙂

  11. Well, pretty Sam, reading your stories makes me happy that we are only friends virtually. Certified mad chick indeed, brrrrrrr, chills etc!
    😉 Tay.
